My name is A.S., I was severely injured during combat in Rafah, Gaza. My best friend was killed and many of my friends were injured too. I was taken to hospital by a helicopter, and I heard the paramedics saying I probably lost my leg. Thankfully we reached the hospital in time and after many surgeries my leg was saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now I am still in rehab, working hard to return to normal activity. I went through many difficult days, physically and emotionally. Then one day a group of Kirvat Shimshon volunteers came to Tel-Hashomer, with their special smile, and slowly we became close. I started to study daily with them, and since then I feel happy, fulfilled and full of motivation to fully recover. Now I am excited to wait for tomorrow rather than dread it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
